Johnson & Johnson Community Health Care Scholars Program (J&J Scholars Program) is part of a collaboration established in 1998 between the Johnson & Johnson Community Health Care Program and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) to help improve the sustainability of community health care organizations around the country.
Through this collaboration, the JHSPH also has: (1) supported the development and implementation of the J&J CHCP annual meeting including workshop(s) for the convened grantees, and (2) since 2002, coordinated the call for proposals and proposal assessment process for the J&J CHCP grants.
The Johnson & Johnson Community Health Care Program (J&J CHCP) has awarded, since 1987, an average of eight to ten grants annually to nonprofit health care organizations serving medically undeserved populations around the country. The goal of the Program is to increase the capacity of the grantees to provide their clients with improved access to quality health care. Grantees receive a two-year, $150,000 grant and the CHCP Crystal Award, a symbol of excellence in the community health care field.
